Tokachi Japanese Restaurant - Calgary

The service here is exceptional however, the food here is not special at all... I wouldn't even know the difference between store bought sushi then the sushi here... It really wasn't special.

Since I was working at the Calgary Stampede this summer I had a couple of opportunities to come here and eat their sushi. First things first, each time I had the all you can eat sushi. If you going during a weekday lunch time then the pricing is ok (15% tip automatically included ). AOnce time I went during a Friday evening though the all you can eat was $34, which is a crazy amount to pay in my opinion. The big letdown though is the service, it was so hard to get the attention of the waitresses and I even had to ask multiple times for water.... thE only redeeming factor here is that the food is pretty good, not on part with some of the other places I visited but above average for sure. Ifeel like management should really teach their servers how to properly do things..

Good service and quality in downtown Calgary. The all you can eat is at good price and you can eat plenty. Rolls are big. The gratuity is included (10%) although they encourage you to give more. I think 10% is fare.

Have not had any other sushi in Calgary so I don't have any other establishment for comparison. Good service, pleasant service and a convenient location make it a good choice for lunch. Choice of soup, your typical bowl of rice, and a lunch combo special (pick two 20 or so items) for $15 CAD (before the automatic tip is added) is okay but nothing to write home about. Had sushi one day and it was okay. Had Tonkatsu on the second visit and it was a little disappointing as it was tough.
