Thai Nongkhai - Calgary

Fantastic Thai cuisine in Calgary! We had heard that several dishes were delicious, but we genuinely enjoyed everything we tried, with some standing out more than others. Personally, I loved the basil fried rice and the green curry the most. Our server, John, was incredibly friendly and offered excellent recommendations when we were unsure about what to order. Although I may not return since I was only visiting Calgary, I will definitely recommend this place to my local friends and family—they'll surely want to come back for more!

The food was decent, but it didn't justify the price I paid. I ordered the cashew chicken lunch along with coconut rice, which came to $18.00, but the portion size was quite small. I left still feeling hungry. The flavors were similar to what you'd find at most Thai restaurants—nothing particularly memorable. However, I wouldn't return due to the imbalance between portion size and price. I gave it a low rating because I just couldn't justify the cost for what I received.

The service is good. However, the food doesn't taste very authentic Thai; the flavors are not very rich. Additionally, the rice portion is quite small and not offered as all-you-can-eat.

The staff was friendly, and the portions of meat in the curry were generous. I ordered the Thai brown curry and the Thai yellow curry. The brown curry, which resembled a Massaman curry, was exceptionally flavorful.

The tofu pad Thai was fantastic, and the spring roll was just as delicious. I also tried the Panang Curry, which was decent, but it may not have fully satisfied my palate since I'm more accustomed to Indian cuisine.
