Sushi Bar Zipang - Calgary

My partner I decided to treat ourselves to an impromptu sushi lunch. We stopped by to try Sushi Bar Zipang, and was really impressed. Excellent service and great quality fish.

Delicious sushi, highly recommend to go here. Make sure to get a reservation because they were super busy. Definitely going back to this place. Thank you very much for the experience.

I was hoping this place lived up to the high expectations that everyone used rave about this place. Unfortunately I was really disappointed with the quality so much that I have a few rolls and off those rolls I had what tasted like spoiled fish. Which turned my stomach and made for a very hard and long night. The sashimi was also mediocre and not close to fresh.For 3-4 severing staff that was working, it felt like we were neglected at the table. Needless to say I will not be recommending or returning after this experience

I walked into here and got weird looks. Not sure if it’s in my head. Not a bad service but seemed reluctant and not that interested. The food is okay but I didn’t feel it was that better than your average sushi place in Calgary. Octopus sashimi was good as opposed to other places. They add wasabi in the sushi which I appreciate. I think the fish here is a little bit better.

I really wanted to like this place since I heard so many good reviews from friends but I couldn't be more disappointed. The sushi was mediocre at best. The rolls of sushi was falling apart. Spicy tuna rolls were rancid. The lamest sushi I have had in a long time. Sad to say I have had better sushi at grocery store.
