I really liked their choice of tortilla and wobble (tortilla was not soggy and wobble were not overpowered). Take a bite into the tacos you hear that you have this beautiful crunch. I would recommend trying this place.
My first visit was a success!<br/ the decor is extremely sea-like and cheesy, but strangely I didn't notice it. <br/ <br/ it was quite busy on the right side when the <br/ service is friendly and fast. eating is great. we ordered that he fish-catching chowder (the meal is) and it was so hearty with large pieces of white fish and salmon. the fried oysters and crab cakes were good, but the calamari was the star. not too much teig and it melts in their mouth!<br/ <br/ we will definitely be back for more than appys next.
My mother and I stopped in for dinner late yesterday afternoon. We where the only 2 customers in the restaurant at the time. Service was Ok. The restaurant appeared neat and clean. The food on the other hand was terrible. We both ordered the fish (haddock) and chips for $20.00. The fish was extremely dry and tasteless. Somehow, the chips ended up being dry as well. Maybe it was the 'special type ' of potatoes they used promoted on their menu. The tarter sauce was basically all mayonnaise with very little seasoning/relish added. Both the tarter sauce and ketchup came in very small insufficient amounts. We both felt sort of sick to our stomachs after and could not get the taste out of our mouths for hours later. Would not recommend patronizing this restaurant.
We've been eating at Pelican Pier for over 3 years now and have been singing their praises to friends and people in general. We lovED the seafood chowder... so lovely, thick, and brimming with shrimps, scallops, clams, and other tasty treats. We ordered it on May 5th, 2023 and were taken by surprise! There was no seafood in it just a few scraps of salmon and cod; we each had a couple carrots, some onion and celery in our bowls. I even called the wait staff back to the table to ask if she had given us the correct chowder. SO DISAPPOINTED We will go back to try the fish and chips hopefully that will still be good!
Decent food, nice location but terrible service. Food was extremely to come out and server rarely checked in. Don’t go there if you are starving or in a hurry.
