Owl Patio - Calgary

Hello. We booked a table at this restaurant online and even received a confirmation email the day before our reservation. We arrived on time, only to find that the restaurant was closed due to COVID-19. This was a birthday celebration, and we had traveled from Okotoks and deep south Calgary on a hot Friday, only to discover that we had no reservation. We had to scramble to find another venue to celebrate. It was also Grad Night for CPA degrees, making the city busier than usual. It is hard to believe that such an issue could occur on an app that should provide accurate status updates for restaurants. We are very disappointed.

The outdoor patio allowed us to bask in the late summer warmth while avoiding the discomfort of direct sunlight. The servers were friendly, attentive, and prompt. The food portions were generous and absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the quesadilla, which came with six large, generously stuffed pieces. I had the chicken burger, featuring a large, lightly breaded breast packed with flavor. We'll definitely return for another visit!

However, when we arrived at the Westin on time, we found that the restaurant had not reopened since COVID. This was meant to be a birthday celebration, and we had driven from Okotoks and deep south Calgary, only to discover, on a hot Friday night, that we had no reservation. We had to scramble to find another patio to celebrate. It was also graduation night for the CPA grads, which made downtown even busier than usual. It's hard to believe this could happen with an app that should be well-informed about restaurants and their status. We are extremely disappointed.

My friend ordered the queen, which came with six large pieces, all very satisfying. I had the chicken burger, which was substantial and packed with flavor. Overall, a job well done!

It's a good spot for casual dining, but it can be quite noisy at street level.
