Original Joe's Deerfoot City - Calgary

Thank you to our waitress Elizabeth. I was evacuated from Fort McMurray on Tuesday and since then I have had a very stressful week. I came to have lunch at Original Joes before heading to my temporary home. Our waitress Elizabeth was one of the best I 've ever had. She genuinely cared about my situation, listened with intent and to top it off, was extremely prompt. To top it off I received my bill that was at 0.00 with a note saying 'this one is on us ' I was overcome with emotion and kindness. She gave me a hug, let me cry on her shoulder and wished me the best. If that isn 't above and beyond I don 't know what it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Love this new OJ's.. 1/2 price wine gets us there Thursdays.. and the view to watch the sunset is wonderful.. and so is the service and food!

Good food, good atmosphere, good service and the prices are good for the amount of food you get!

Confession: I love OJ’s (and their sister restaurant State and Main . It’s a great go to choice for my friends and I one of the few options we all can agree on! They have a good menu with lots of favourites to choose from. In the last year or so, though I pretty much only order one thing the salmon burger with garden salad and fries (with dill dip! I like most things I’ve ordered (fish tacos, Kim’s burger, west coast chop salad, beef dip, Mediterranean wrap but I almost always come back to the salmon burger. I love being able to pick 2 sides (what can I say? I’m easily impressed . Their garden salad comes with apple, goat cheese, and a couple of sweet potato chips. Their fries are ok pretty typical chain restaurant fries but for some reason have been almost burnt on our last couple of visits. We’ve gone for brunch every now again but their brunch menu is fairly limited. Overall, a solid choice!
