Hy's Steakhouse - Calgary

If you want great service, good food and a dining experience that you won't regret? Get to Hys steakhouse, it's not cheap but it's worth it.

For what it claims to be, and for the money spent. Service is really average, one would think they went to Nappa to get the bottle of wine we had just ordered. The setting is nice, not enough worth the money. The steak was average. All in all, an average restaurant, not worth the money.

Fantastic service from Sean and perfect steak. Our children also loved the children's menu. The restaurant is beautifully decorated.

My husband and I had a night out for our anniversary and we chose to dine at Hy’s. The restaurant was very nice. The service was amazing. Our server Tony did everything possible to make our evening a memorable one. He was very attentive and helpful. My steak did come out a bit too rare (as I asked for medium) and since I had to wait 7 minutes for a new one Tony did make up for it by bringing us out a complimentary dessert. The food was amazing. We even had 2 servers come out and remove our lobster tails for us! The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the mac and cheese. I was expecting something more creamy and cheesy but since everything else was top notch, this did not bother me. There was a live band playing which was also very nice. Would I come again? Maybe not as it was a very expensive night out and would only go there for a special occasion.

Red velvet and wood panelled walls is what you expect and get at Hy's. Crazy steak house prices - everything ala carte - and a very high end wine list is what you get.Everyone but me ordered steak and I asked for the fresh catch fish - halibut. Two couple decided to share a steak and we're very happy with the half portions. We had the Caesar salad and as always a great performance at the table.The steaks were great. My fish was overcooked.The waiter was extraordinary - a real professional in every way - friendly and excellent service. this is a good place to go for a traditional steak dinner.
