Halo Restaurant & Lounge - Calgary

Going out to a steakhouse is a rarity for me but every now and then, we like to treat ourselves.

Ok, as usual I go into a new place with an open mind._Nice greeting at the door, cool ambiance, great layout.

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant and have to tell you , it is the last. Warning signs should have gone off when at Q12:30 there were only 2 maybe 3 table ooccupied. Prices seemed fair and good selection, well...More

i ordered the Halibut it was cooked to provection moist went well with there lemon flavor my wife ordered the back ribs she also enjoyed them

We had a groupon and reserved for four. It was a Tuesday, and so the restaurant was quiet. Our server (did not get her name) was excellent .. possibly the best part of the experience. I ordered the prime rib medium rare .. Please see the review immediately before this .. I had EXACTLY the same experience! Really disappointing. Two of our party ordered the steak with shrimp and both their medium rare steaks came out really overdone. Again disappointing. One steak went back (after the prime rib went back,) and the end result was that none of us were eating together at what was supposed to be a special dinner. The seafood casserole, however, was apparently really good. Ironic for a steakhouse, lol. To give credit where it is due, the Manager came to our table and apologized for the less than enjoyable experience, and took 50% off our bottle of wine, and the one of the beers. He was very nice, and we appreciated his effort. However, with the many restaurants available in Calgary, I do not think we will be back.
