Good Earth Cafe - Calgary

I have been in Greeen Earth Cafe a few time.One in Calgary downtown and a few times in Victoria BC.All times it was very bad....There is always something not working there....credit card device, coffeemaker, AC etc....Tge staff looks completely lost and unprofessional and had no idea how to fix the problems...The food was poor and tge coffee is just ok.I woukd never go to this cafe again.

Good Earth is NOT good at all. At least not this location. STAY AWAY! Unhygienic, rude and dishonest staff.We ordered THREE drinks: one kid sized, one medium and one large. We got TWO medium drinks. When I went back and asked for my kid sized drink, they fished the receipt out of the garbage with their bare hands and agreed that they missed a drink. They then proceeded to make a drink for me with their bare hands without washing them.Then I asked them why I had two medium drinks, and asked if I had paid for one medium and one large (as we had ordered.) They looked up the receipt and said I paid for two mediums. I then asked for a copy of the receipt. ONLY then did they admit that I paid for a large and made me a second drink. By this time I was really annoyed and asked for my money back. They refused.On top of that the staff were very rude. They ran out of straws and when a customer inquired about them the response was, "We ran out of straws. My manager went to get some, but we don't have any. What more do you want us to do?" I told them I was disappointed with their work and felt that they were being very dishonest in giving my two drinks instead of three and downsizing one of the two drinks they gave me. They shrugged and made no apology, saying "they forgot." I think one mistake is believable, but TWO? And he had a chance to admit his mistake but lied didn't own up to it until I asked for my receipt. Geez. Worst experience ever. Don't go.

We ate the stew and some flatbread which was actually very yummy, can't fault those. However I bought a cookie and found a hair in it half way through eating it! The staff didn't seem bothered and he blamed it on the fact that we were sitting outside?! I was not offered a refund nor given an apology but just offered another cookie which I didn't want as it just put me off. My mom couldn't eat her muffin afterwards neither. On the way out, I waited for mom to use the toilet and I noticed things flying around inside one of the glass top containers with the cakes in! I looked closer and it was flies, black flies on the cake with the orange slice and just in the container! I felt so sick I just walked out (after taking a picture.) We went and looked around eau Claire market and came back outside to our table still being dirty, nothing had been cleared and we had been going around half an hour. The cafe wasn't even busy whilst we were eating and when we walked back out so not sure what the staff was doing all that time? It had put me off trying another Good Earth!

Went to this location for breakfast and had a breakfast wrap and a cappuccino. The wrap, while a good portion size, was bland and boring - simply egg and a few leaves of spinach in a wrap. The salsa added a bit of flavour, but overall it was pretty disappointing. Also decided to give my usual favourite coffee shop a miss this morning to try Good Earth's house-roasted beans, and found the coffee lacking in flavour and weak. The cappuccino had a bit of a metallic taste. I won't bother coming back.

There are a few places to stop in for a coffee and something in the area. On a recent sub-zero walk downtown, I was very happy to land here, in Eau Claire Mall. They have a decent amount of cozy seating inside, and should it every warm up, there's seating outside too. The coffee was good and my broccoli cheese scone was tasty - a bit small, but tasty nonetheless. Staff were friendly. So whether you just need a quick coffee, or want to settle in for a relaxing break, this place would be nice. The mall is quite unique in Calgary, and I spotted many interesting places you wouldn't find anywhere else.
