Contribuiți la feedbackWe had the basic schnitzel and the german meatballs. Both were dry and disappointing in flavour. The best part of the meal were the potatoes that came with the meatballs. It was also odd that they had a bunch of reserved tables and they were turning people away without giving them an option of saying, it will be a wait of however long. Any experienced wait staffer should have been able to look at our table for example and relay that they would be able to sit in about 10 minutes as we were at the end of our meal.
My family had the chance to dine here over the weekend. Unfortunately we were quickly let down by the lack of customer service big time. The waitress right off the hop said greeted me by telling me how tired she was since she is on day 6 of work. This was the start of horrible service. professionalism clearly does not seem to exist in this restaurant. With waitresses(ours) drinking right behind the bar and the remainder of the servers or staff on their phones and eating. The restaurant was not busy at all for a Saturday and the delay of service for abundance of time to assist patrons. No hello or signs of their respect of your patronage with your visit. My grandma who was with this and know a here traditional German meals like no other and could not rate and dish above 4. Save your time and money if your after a welcoming and traditional german dining experience !
A Friday night and not crowded. Service was slow. Salad with meal was OK. Took forever to get a glass of wine. Meal when arrived was adequate. Schnitzel very thick, more like a piece of unflattened tenderloin - unusual in that I have had schnitzel in Europe, and many other North American cities and it is always flattened. Taste OK. Substantial helping. The time between salad course and meal was very long without a comment from the server. Ran out of water and wine.
We went to the restaurant very much looking forward to tasty schnitzel..the house specialty. My husband ordered the schnitzel. When it was served it was Dust Dry. The breading on schnitzel appeared to have been glued to the meat rather than an envelope of breading. Meat looked as though it had been fried on grill with a weight added to it giving it a flat, hockey puck appearance. The accompanying potatoes were over cooked and only warm, not hot, giving the impression of having been warmed up from leftovers rather than prepared fresh. We were the only table occupied in the restaurant for most of our meal so it certainly wasn't a case of the kitchen being busy.I ordered the German meatballs. They too were dry and miserably overcooked. Not hot but only warm when served. I skipped the potatoes and only ordered the vegetables which consisted of ribbon cut carrots and chopped broccoli which were clearly served from a frozen package. The carrots were so unappetizing that they were inedible. We were the only table occupied in the restaurant until we had almost finished our meal! The waitress left us looking at our dirty plates while she took and then filled the drink order from the only other table (a party of seven) and then returned, to complete taking their food order for seven people. in spite of my previous request to clear our plates. We must have been left sitting for twenty or so minutes looking at dirty plates. This is the only occasion that I have ever failed to leave a tip. In it's place I took the time to provide the waitress with a discrete and quietly spoken review of her complete lack of service. She walked away, completely disinterested in how we felt, before I even had an opportunity to tell her about the dreadful food! The restaurant was clean and offers a nice variety of beer served in proper beer glasses. That being said, this is a sad, poorly run restaurant that doesn't have any understanding nor do they appear to wish to have any understanding of a restaurant's obligation of proper food preparation or food service.
We were there on a Friday night for dinner, and it was not very busy. Good food, large portions, but only German wines available (six selections to be exact - and expensive.) Good German beers available on tap. This restaurant has many daily specials, but they would be advised to have a more extensive wine list to stay in business. They appear to be trying to be authentically German, but I'm sure restaurants in Germany offer wines from other countries on their menus. I would have given 4 stars if there was a decent wine selection. This would have greatly added to our dining experience. If you have a big appetite and are a fan of beer, this is the place for you.
