Bincho Izakaya - Calgary

The service was excellent, and the food was well worth the price.

The food and drinks at Bar Bincho were soooo good! The grilled kushiyaki skewers especially. I have been searching for a place like this since I went to Japan a few years ago and fell in love with the yakitori restaurant concept! My only comment would be that the food came out slowly. We would have ordered a lot more, but we spent a lot of time waiting and left with a bit of an appetite. It was Saturday night, and there were only 4 other tables in the place, so I was surprised at the length of time it took to get food. We placed several orders through the night, as is customary in this type of restaurant, but the length of waiting was more suitable to a traditional North American serving style where you place a single order with the server and your food comes out in stages. Our server was great and did everything he could to keep us happy. I think maybe there just weren’t enough staff in the restaurant for the number of tables. I really enjoyed the charcoal grilled flavor of the meat and will definitely be back! Drinks were great as well!

We enjoyed sushi, skewers, pasta, and beef, and everything was delicious with a rich umami flavor! We loved it!

That was terrible, but the rest was good. the spits were something too salty

We had a pleasant meal. Since it was early and not many customers were present, the service could have been a bit more energetic. However, our server was friendly.
