Boyfriend and I have been here a few times now. The subs are always tasty (I get mine without cilantro). I usually get the beef and it is super tasty, especially with the carrots and cucumber. The roll they are put on tastes nice as well.
I love Kim Anh Vietnamese submarine shop! It's conveniently located next door to my apartment and their subs are packed with delicious and nutritious flavors. It seems to be a family-run business, and my favorite is the beef sub without jalapenos. The pricing is very reasonable, under $10, and the portions are satisfying and refreshing. The Bubble Tea is a great addition to the menu. The seating is perfect for this cozy little Sub Shop, and in the summer, it's a great spot to sit outside and enjoy your meal while soaking up the sun on 17th Ave. The patrons and staff are all very friendly.
Today, I decided to try Kim Anh's Vietnamese subs for dinner. This fast food restaurant is located across from Western High School in Calgary's 17th Avenue district. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by the staff. It appeared to be a family-owned establishment, which I appreciate. I ordered the lemongrass chili chicken sub, which comes with various toppings such as cilantro, peanuts, jalapenos, onions, and pickled carrots. The chicken had a sweet and tangy flavor with a noticeable lemongrass taste, and the bread was chewy and crispy. The peanuts added a nice texture to the sub. The prices were reasonable, around $7 per sub. I would recommend trying this place specifically for their subs.
This restaurant is one of my favorites. My usual order is the beef Vietnamese sub without cilantro, hot peppers, or hot sauce. The subs here are delicious and the bread is softer than others I've tried. The only downside is that they charge extra for cheese and the sandwiches have less meat compared to other Vietnamese sub shops.
