Even when the order includes a half gallon of cold milk (which has its own handle, by the way), and pop bottles. These things sweat, you know and bags rip.
They have a nice little dining room to sit in. The menu has food ranging from fish to chicken to breakfast. It's the only restaurant open 24/7 in Caledonia and you can have breakfast all day long.
The hand battered fish and fried chicken are wonderful.
About a week or two ago I was passing through Caledonia and stopped late at night for gas and some food at this Kwik Trip and over heard a female cashier belittling and talking trash about the food person behind his/her back and laughing about it with customers. I don't know if this is just a small town thing, but its strikes me as unbelievably unprofessional. Maybe they don't have the population to replace people like her, but they should. Real soured my mood for this franchise as a whole.
I have stopped at several Kwik Trips but had never seen one with a restaurant in it with menus and freshly cooked food. You can fill up your car, eat lunch and buy groceries in one place. I was very satisfied with the food. The menu is mostly geared to carnivores. The menu carried everything from oatmeal to fried chicken. A vegetarian can assemble some of the sides to put together a meal. I ordered oatmeal, baked beans and macaroni and cheese. I don't know if the baked beans had pork in them.
