Contribuiți la feedbackJamie, one of the front of house staff, truly made our evening. He was attentive, engaging in light-hearted banter with various members of our party, and even managed to entertain both the youngest and oldest guests. Although the food was not outstanding on this particular visit, our longstanding loyalty to the old mill was reinforced by the exceptional service provided.
This restaurant has become my number one choice for date nights. I was impressed by the appearance of the pub as we arrived in the parking lot. I only wish the weather had been better so we could have sat outside and enjoyed a drink while listening to the sound of the stream. The staff at this restaurant are very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, especially the garlic mushrooms served on top of a sourdough crumpet. The steak and red wine pie was the best pie I've ever had. I usually don't order pie because I'm picky, but I definitely made the right choice tonight. Even though we were completely full, I couldn't resist the millionaire's cheesecake - it was amazing! We washed everything down with a bottle of Pinot. We will definitely be returning here; the drive to get here was well worth it. We are now heading home in a food coma, but it was all worth it. Thank you, Old Mill!
We had a disappointing dining experience at this restaurant. Upon being seated, we were informed that many items on the menu were not available because they had run out. When we tried to order wine, we were once again told that several bottles were unavailable. The Sunday lunch we ordered seemed to have been prepared hours in advance, as the vegetables were overcooked. It appeared that the staff were not concerned about customer satisfaction, as they did not seem receptive to complaints. The only positive aspect was that we were able to pay with Tesco vouchers, so my recommendation would be to only visit this restaurant if you have vouchers to use.
Clean, welcoming and friendly. The new manager introduced himself and the staff were all helpful. Food was tasty (the veg on the Sunday dinner was superb). We all enjoyed it very much.
Stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn and had the pleasure of dining here for three evenings. Lovely old building kept to a very clean standard. Knowledgeable and friendly bar staff with a decent selection of draft beer. First night the service was grim with minute wait from order to starter!! Staff and kitchen issues apparently- the rest of the week was spot on. The Korean chicken and squid to start are both excellent. The mixed grill was huge and the steaks looked correctly cooked and loads of chips. I recommend this lovely pub and having spoken with Ian the manager over a pint it can only carry on being excellent
