El Torero - Calaveras County

The food was pretty good, but the service wasn't that great. Everyone at my table got their food before me- and the server didn't come by to check to see if everything was ok. She came by finally when everyone was 3/4 done with their food, and evidently the kitchen didn't make the order or forgot. By the time I got my food, everyone had finished eating. They didn't offer a discount or try to make it up in any way. Servers were pretty nice overall, just need to work on the service a bit.

Maybe just bad timing, the cook and I assume owner, was bartender he even said wife was sick. Drinks were week but he did offer an extra shot. Food was ok, would I go back maybe ?

Staff is friendly but I've tried this place a dozen times and not once has the staff gotten my family's order right. The food is terrible. I think the locals like this place for the drinks and even those are meh. This place also needs a deep cleaning, it's so dirty

Absolutely love El Toreo! Can eat here everyday for a week! Margaritas are soooo good! And my go to every time for the past 6 years is Vallarta with no sour cream. When I went into labor with my son I asked my mom to drive 40 min to get me a burrito before I had him ? absolutely love the staff and they are practically family now! Also absolutely love the homemade chips and salsa! Sooo good!
