Adagio - Calamandrana

During my amazing stay at the Almaranto Hotel Retreat, I had dinner at the Ristorante Adagio. When a restaurant offers a tasting menu I go with this option in most cases, as I like to be surprised. I also have been disappointed with tasting menus in other restaurants in the past. BUT definitely not with the tasting menu I had at the Ristorante Adagio. The entire menu was very tasty and the different courses matched perfectly together. Also worthwhile to mention is that the suggested wine harmonized ideally with each course and that the service provided by the staff was very friendly and attentive. I had a great dining experience at the Ristorante Adagio. So, I can highly recommend this very nice restaurant for a great culinary experience.

I stayed at the Almaranto for 12 days (extended from 7 and used the opportunity to spend an evening at Adagio. I was on my own and took the full 8 courses taster menu with the wine pairing. It took about 3.5hrs and although I was on my own, I had fun all the way through. the great service meant I had fun and interesting chats and insights, and time to myself just perfectly balanced. Loved the ox tongue and the smoked aubergine, the lovely presentation, the perfect timing between the dishes, but the thing that stole my heart was Alexa's take on the local speciality of pasta with eggs and lemon. To make pasta sophisticated and special takes a lot. Unforgettable. And to be honest their zucchini sauce pasta in the bistro Anima is just as brilliant... : The wine pairing was exquisite: local Italian wines of the highest quality for those who know their wines. The place is brimming with intelligent attention to detail that works... whether it is pairing of shell fish with meet or the sparkling pain on the ceilings... I love this place

Posto tranquillo, cibo eccellente. Ve lo consiglio a occhi chiusi, ma poi apritegli per ammirare il panorama al tramonto!
