Rexs Breakfast & Burger Bar - Cairns

We were informed at the Shangri La Villa that we could access free wifi at the restaurant, but the staff seemed clueless about wifi when we asked. We would have stayed for breakfast if they had offered this service. It's surprising that food establishments don't provide something as basic as wifi, which can influence customers' decisions to dine in.

This takeout restaurant may be small, but their burgers are huge, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. It's the best burger I've ever tasted.

I stumbled across this little old shop, nothing to look at needs some repairs. BUT the food is great breakfast, and dinner we ate there a few times. The chainees food is one of the best we'e had in years. and cheap.$13 and you get a big meal. beacon end eggs with extras $13. You can eat at the tables at the front of the shop a bit like eating in asia. I think this shop has been there 100 years. I could not complain at the food and value for money

For $13.5 I got bacon, eggs, toast, beans, sausage, tomato, and ham! Got this my first and last day in Cairns. Loved it

This used to be THE place to get great burgers. My recent visit was pretty disappointing.Firstly the state of the shop is pretty bad, just looked messy and uncared for. It was good to see the same guy still cooking the burgers after all these years but the lady taking orders at the counter just seemed so disinterested, bordering on standoffish and rude. No smile, no welcome, nothing. She looked like she couldn't care less if you were there or not.The burger with the lot was a disappointment from years ago. The meat patty was burnt, crumbly and very thin, in fact the whole burger was just a mess to eat and I didn't enjoy it at all. In the old shop the burgers were cooked in view of the customer. Now everything happens out the back. I wouldn't be surprised if the patty had been pre cooked and sitting for a while.I see they are dabbling in Indian and Chinese food too but given the fact that most items on this Asian menu have been crossed out leaving only 2 or 3 available dishes shows how much care or ability they have of providing these dishes.Sadly what was great is just not worth stopping for now.
