Last week, as on several visits to Cagliari over a decade, I looked forward to visiting Svizzero. On a central street, close to sea promenade and shopping Via Roma, a few steps from the Town Hall a few more to the train stn. One may sit on a classic Thonet 'bistro ' bentwood chair, at one of their white marble tables--perhaps glancing up to the high brick arch above (while dressed of course in stylishly wrinkled linen), enjoying the solid Deco feel of it all--then to a lovely cappuccino and sandwich, cake, or whatever, open one 's notebook write, 'Ch. 1 '. A dream I sustain: in UK I keep one of their cards in the kitchen corner where we make coffee, to remember that one will return..

Opened in 1880, it is a romantic place to have your coffee and sweet. Cappuccino and sweet €6 maybe Americano coffee is expensive. Also to relax before continuing with your tour

Bar along the wide happy carlo in the heart of curlers. if you want a stop with a real Italian coffee and friendly staff this is the place to visit.
