Mestizo Del Mar - Cabo San Lucas

Terrible experience from beginning to end. Do not come here unless you want to be disappointed. They claimed to not have our reservation until I showed proof of it. Brought food out cold. Forgot some of our friends orders. Cooked the steak incorrectly. Messed up the check. And then scoffed at us when we finally had enough and complained. I should’ve paid attention to the other bad reviews. Don’t go here.

Visited this restaurant while staying at the resort. We were impressed by the setting and of course the views were lovely. But for this restaurant to be as expensive it needs to step up its service and the food, because both were not as they could be considering the cost. We sat at a beautiful window table and our server seemed to be okay at first, but considering he only had three tables, he was hard to flag down or even notice and he brought wrong things to us. We were served a complimentary appetizer of a guacamole 'tower ' done in a ring mold, sitting on a bed of pico de gallo with some queso fresco sprinkled on top and accompanied by very tasty chips. That was lovely, but then it went downhill after that. My husband enjoyed his salad well enough and my octopus appetizer was pretty good. But then the server brought my same appetizer again instead of my next course! My husband said his main course was dry and not very tasty, and my next course was also lackluster. So even though we had a decent start, the meal just wasn 't up to what we paid for it. Not worth a repeat visit, even with the stunning views.

Unfortunately the service was very slow, fish was overcooked. This was our Second time visiting this restaurant. First time was amazing, but not this time. The setting is very special. I will not be returning.

Food was mediocre and the staff tried to rip us off on an extra service charge. The offered to buy us a drink when we said we were going to go to the manager. Don’t go!

When the menu descriptions don’t match what you are served at this “high end” restaurant, disappointing is an understatement. The soup appetizer of shrimp bisque was lukewarm and no crab ravioli to be found. My friend whose birthday we were celebrating ordered the shrimp appetizer. It came heavy on the breading and barely a swipe of sauce on the plate. Her steak which was ordered cooked medium was not even rare but uncooked. The accompanying sides didn’t match and there wasn’t a stalk of asparagus even near the table. The staff was unapologetic and kept pointing out we were on the “all-inclusive” plan so it didn’t cost us anything.
