Wetzel's Pretzels - Cabazon

I wish I hadn't eaten my order before taking photos. I ordered two almond pretzels from Wetzel's since Auntie Anne's was quite a distance away. I assumed that almond pretzels would be the same wherever I tried them, but I was very mistaken. First, we received two bags of pretzel bits, not full pretzels. They were dry, lacked chewiness, and had no taste of almonds whatsoever. While there was some coating, it only covered the bottom of the bag. The pretzels were bland, dry, and practically inedible. To make matters worse, these two bags cost nearly $17! I can't comment on the rest of the menu—my experience was solely with the almond pretzels.

The food here is quite good, but be cautious with the lemonade—it's incredibly sweet, almost like drinking liquid sugar. The reason for my low rating is due to the service from Jazmin. She was unexpectedly rude to both my friend and me for no apparent reason. When we asked for a second drink, she insisted we hadn't ordered one, which was frustrating. I explained that we did need another drink and that I was willing to pay for it, so I ended up paying for two drinks instead. While I don't mind covering the cost, which was $6, I was disappointed with her attitude. It’s possible she was having a rough day, but that shouldn’t have affected her treatment of us.

I usually enjoy this place, but I can't say the same this time. Last week, I had just come from a big lunch and was already feeling full. We were thirsty, so we ordered two lemonades and a bottle of water, which totaled $13.54. I couldn't believe that a bottle of water was $2.99 at a mall! It’s not like it was during the Super Bowl—it's just a mall. I was taken aback and still am. I won’t be purchasing from this place again; it’s a matter of principle for me.

I was quite unimpressed with this Wetzel's. The Bitz were overcooked and drenched in butter. I mean, I like butter, but there was so much that the salt didn't even stick! I was hungry so I ate some of them, but I ended throwing more than half away. If this is what all locations are doing now, I'm extremely disappointed. I actually SEEK OUT Wetzel's if I know there's one nearby, and I did exactly that in this case only to be let down. Bummer.

Put already returned items from other customers in with fresh food. They were asked why did they didn't just throw it away?. They simply respond, we will. The bag that some returned stay there however. Very unsanitary. I understand they were having a big rush. But sacrificing sanitary procedure during a pandemic is not acceptable.
