Kahala Coffee Traders - Cabazon

I had a disappointing experience at this cafe, particularly with their iced coffee. It just didn't compare to what you can get at Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders. My drink was bland, and even after asking for an extra shot of coffee at the counter, it still fell flat. For $7, I expected much better. While the decorations on the back wall are cute, that couldn't make up for the poor quality of the drink. I didn't even want to take a picture because it looked so unappealing. I won’t be returning. Consider this purchase a donation to the establishment; these baristas clearly need to improve their iced coffee skills. Honestly, even my workplace's Keurig produces better coffee!

On a busy summer Sunday, we had the pleasure of being assisted by Todd. Let's bypass the praise for the excellent coffee and the neatness of the establishment for a moment and focus on Todd's outstanding service. He greeted us with a big smile and provided incredible assistance with our order. Despite being the only staff member working that day, he handled a line of 8-9 people with remarkable efficiency. No matter how hectic things became, Todd kept his energy up and maintained a steady pace. I observed him as I enjoyed my coffee, and he consistently remained helpful and quick at the register with each customer. I truly admire someone with that level of work ethic. I hope the restaurant gets the staffing it needs soon, as Todd certainly deserves a break!

I tried the Coffee Caramel Chocolate Smoothie, the Mango Matcha Smoothie, and the Nutritional Harmony (which has Pineapple, Coconut, and Orange), and they were all perfectly sweet. They weren't overly sugary but still had just the right amount of sweetness—definitely a 10/10!

The ambiance was decent, as the shop is shared with other restaurants, but the service was commendable. The staff was friendly and patiently offered great recommendations for what to order. Unfortunately, I have to give this place only two stars due to the steep prices. I ordered a large iced caramel coffee for around $7.50, which, after tax, came to nearly $9. I understand that prices are rising due to inflation, but this seems excessive, especially for a cup of coffee; even Starbucks doesn’t charge that much. Though I wanted to give the place a fair chance despite the high prices, the coffee ended up being quite diluted, tasting more like sugary water—something I could easily get from 7-Eleven. My friends had a craving for ice cream, but out of eight of them, only two chose to indulge, while the rest opted not to buy because the prices were too high. A cone was about $7, nearly the same as the coffee! For that price, you could easily buy an entire pint of ice cream elsewhere. Overall, I definitely won't be returning to this place.

The couple that runs this restaurant is wonderful. I witnessed them go above and beyond to ensure their guests were happy. I will definitely be returning! Food: 4/5
