Located in the historic district, this newly opened spot has turned into a hub for musicians traveling the Texas country roads between Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, as well as for dedicated fans of country music. It’s a perfect destination for both big city dwellers and those from smaller towns seeking a personal touch and a unique connection that makes them feel valued. This is a place where no one feels like a stranger; everyone is greeted warmly and accepted for who they are. Be sure to mark it on your travel map for your next weekend getaway—you'll absolutely love it!
This place is a true hidden gem! I first visited this dining and live music venue on December 30, 2016, with a group of seven family members, three of whom suggested it since they lived just five minutes away. I kicked off my meal with an appetizer of chips and homemade green chili salsa, which was among the best salsa I’ve ever had. The draft beer was ice-cold, and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Our table ordered margherita and meat lovers pizzas. I opted for the chili con carne appetizer, which was served in a generously large bowl. It was so delicious that I decided to order another bowl and make that my meal! To top it off, we enjoyed live music from a talented but unknown country trio that played great cover songs by artists like George Strait and Merle Haggard. Overall, what a fantastic place—I will definitely be back soon and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone!
As a tired city dweller, I felt a wave of relief upon discovering the tranquil charm and warm atmosphere of Burton, particularly at the Burton Roadhouse. The building itself is wonderfully unique, consisting of three old structures joined together, creating a delightful ambiance. The waitstaff are exceptionally friendly, and the food is fresh—don’t miss the homemade pizza! The music is also top-notch. This place is a fantastic spot to gather with friends. Highly recommended!
Perfect stop between Austin and Houston. The pizza is the way to go. The crust is half wheat, half white and was crisp and super tasty. We had the pepperoni with generous amounts of quality cheese. There's a good selection of tap bottle beer, plus wine and a full bar. I had a great **** Mary to start. The service was friendly and fast as well.
Great place to stop to beat the heat. We stopped in and immediately you can feel history of the building. Thick hand laid stone walls and former jail cells make this truly unique place to visit. The lil' pizza is plenty large enough for 2 people and was delicious. The Chardonnay was very good and a nice selection of TX beers on tap. Will come back for sure.
