Contribuiți la feedbackOk, so I’ve held off on visiting Y Sushi for a very long time. Why? Well, I’ve heard many mixed reviews of the place and, to be honest, life is too short for bad sushi. Still, I found myself looking for some new sushi spot...around the Edmonds area I figured that I might as well try Y Sushi out for myself to see how they stacked up. I visited in late February and found that the interior was quite cold (even though I was sitting next to a space heater). I started out with the BBQ Salmon Kama and Head as I usually find this is a good indicator of how the rest of the meal will turn out. Usually when I order kama, you just get the fish collar – so I was a bit intrigued that they serve this with the head. Honestly not sure if they serve it this way because they’re too lazy to separate the head from the collar but it didn’t turn out too bad. There were plenty of meaty bits (along with an eyeball – which I didn’t eat) but I can see why it’s not ordered more often. I think I do prefer just the kama by itself. I also ordered the Oshi Aburi Sushi Salmon I found this to be a very creamy dish (particularly from the avocado in the middle) but thought that they used a bit too much rice and the flavour of the sauce seemed a bit off. Overall, the service seemed kind of slow considering how quiet it was. I’ve definitely had better (and worse) sushi items elsewhere and probably wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit
Quaint, small restaurant with wonderful sushi. We typically order out but have stayed in on occasion. There are probably hundreds of sushi spots in greater Vancouver but this is the one we always come back to. My son loves their chicken karaage bento. It's basically...Japanese chicken nuggets but the bento has all the yummy sides you'd want. Lunch specials are a great value. I wish the to-go packaging wasn't Styrofoam but I think that'd be my only complaint. I'd highly recommend their food
Stopped here for lunch and overall stayed satisfied. We chose combo for two consisting of two miso soups, tempura mix pcs, rolls and chicken soba, plus salmon and tuna sashimi. Everything was pretty tasty and served very quickly, although I thought tempura batter...was too heavy. We got soba to go since were too full. Price are moderate, staff is attentive and friendly
I was in on June to pick up my order and waited over minutes before leaving. There were two Fraser Health Restaurant Inspectors in the restaurant at the time and they were having a hard time getting order outs. So after leaving and...eating somewhere else I thought I would go online to see what the inspection report was. There were several issues which they have since resolved but then a couple on a follow up visit on July they have not which is a concern. Still have not found a way to control their mice infestation so not spending the money on pest control services as directed in June visit. Using sticky traps instead where a mouse was found as well a mice dropping on kitchen floor! Until they take this serious and pay for proper pest control I will not be back
Great new(ish) modern place with good quality sushi. I usually take out and orders are ready fast, but also a nice section to eat in as well. Never too busy, orders come quickly. Sushi is good quality, they do a few "special rolls" that are...kind of expensive and not really worth it, but the usual basic rolls are quite fresh and the rolls don't fall apart, which is always nice. A good deal
