Contribuiți la feedbackI've previously tried the Richmond location and really liked it but upon trying the burnaby location it wasn't as good. But maybe I just ordered some weird **** items. I love fish and I try to order the special items but the white cod I ordered was covered in a heap of starch and salt you can't even see the fish.. I had to scrape the salt off. The Thai fried rice was quite nice and you can't screw up deep fried chicken nuggets I don't think. I'll give it 3.5/5 ..maybe I'll try it again and order regular items I know are tried and true :
I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have also gotten takeout several times in the past. My go-to dish is the Extreme Spicy Beef Noodle soup, which I love for its flavorful noodles. The broth has a nice level of spiciness, but I wish it were even hotter. The fried chicken nuggets are also a hit. And my favorite drink is the Grapefruit Passion Fruit Green Tea - it has a light fruity taste and isn't overly sweet.
Last time I was at Pearl Castle Cafe at Old Orchard Mall near Metrotown, I had a pretty lame tea. This time another friend dragged me there for lunch (her treat, so her choice) and it turned out to be really decent and good quantity for price!<br/ <br/ I didn't try their drinks/dessert again to re-review those.<br/ <br/ CASH ONLY. CASH ONLY. CASH ONLY.
Standard taiwanese bbt restaurant. I just got my usual chicken nugget with noodle soup $8.5) and it was good in flavour and portion size. This place is cash-only. Your other option for taiwanese bbt food is to go to Bubble World which is just a 2 blocks away.
I've been to different location of this Taiwanese cuisine chain store, 2 in Richmond and this one in Burnaby Metrotown area. For some reason I don't like ordering drinks from these places simply because for the same amount of money you can get an appetizer instead of a drink. <br/ <br/ Anyway, this location in Burnaby right across Crystal mall is newly opened, and what they are serving is similar to the other 2 locations that I've been to. Foodwise they are pretty solid, with most dishes deep fried, or stir fried, or hot pot. They have variety of chicken dishes, pork dishes, limited seafood dishes, and about 4 pages of drinks. <br/ <br/ The signature dish of every Taiwanese cuisine (which is what I define Taiwanese cuisine) is the salty chicken nuggets. Here they have a few variations: standalone chicken nuggets, chicken nuggets with rice combo, chicken nuggets fried rice, chicken nuggets with noodles. They are all made with the same chicken nuggets regardless, and the chicken are decent without being overly salty (like the one in sunway), or the one being too sweet (like in estea), or too greasy (in so many other places). I also ordered the seafood udon, which has 2 pieces of each kind of seafood (2 prawns, 2 calarmari, 2 slice of fish cakes). I guess this dish is only meant for sharing between 2 ppl, how stingy it is.<br/ <br/ Since most of the food is either deep fried or stir fried food, I picked their 3 cup chicken (as I seen a few other table ordered this dish too). The chicken in this dish is very boney (i.e. more bone than meat). The sauce is decent though, balance between savory and a little bit of sweetness, with the taste from basal and ginger. Still the best 3 cup chicken imo is the one at port ocean in coquitlam.<br/ <br/ Verdict:<br/ Food: 7/10 (food is freshly made, but took awhile to come)<br/ Service: 7/10 (The server looks tired, maybe they are busy all the time. They do refill your water here and there, despite they are so busy)<br/ Price: 7/10 (Taiwanese food is never cheap, but if you know what to order, it won't be very pricey)<br/ Overall: 21/30 (It's still pretty good Taiwanese cuisine in the area (Burnaby or Richmond)
