We tried their pho, roller and grilled meat Vermicelli combos. I'm not an aficionado, but I wouldn't... regain the specialties. I have seen many regulars that order their Vietnamese dishes and they are enthusiastic. Kim Anh Restaurant is reasonable. Prices have risen, but still okay. The staff is absolutely beautiful. We can also support a local business. Well, you should go if you feel like a burger or banh mi. Manage your expectations and you will be fine.
I decided to try their special dish, the Bun Bo Hue Kim Anh Dac Biet for $10. It came with a generous bowl of thick, round noodles, meatballs, and three different types of thinly sliced meats - I believe it was a combination of light beef, beef brisket, and Vietnamese ham. Overall, the dish was quite tasty. On my next visit, I added a side of Frites and Grilled Chicken Banh Mi for an extra $7. The sub was good, but I found the bread to be lacking the crispy exterior that I typically enjoy in a banh mi. However, the chicken was juicy and tender, and I appreciated that it was freshly grilled and still warm. About a month later, I returned to try their Pho Dac Biet for $10, which included tendons, beef slices, meatballs, and tripe. The broth was light but slightly oily, and the dish was satisfying overall. While the menu at Kim Anh may be somewhat limited compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, they also offer some Western elements such as hamburgers.
After many years, the mediocre hole-in-the-wall restaurant has finally closed down. There is doubt that anyone will miss this place, as the food was not good and the atmosphere was lacking.
This restaurant offers a mix of Vietnamese and Canadian cuisine, including dishes like pho, spring rolls, salad rolls, burgers, BLT, fries, etc. However, the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none" applies here. The food is average overall, with the exception of the spring rolls which are below average and resemble Chinese spring rolls. Despite this, I enjoy stopping by for a snack when I can't decide where to eat, and the staff are quite friendly.
