Gokudo Shabu Shabu Hot Pot-burnaby

Gokudo is definitely one of my favorite hotpot restaurants. They offer the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, including beef, pork, and seafood. Their combo options are very convenient. You will never leave this restaurant feeling hungry. The staff is friendly and attentive. Just remember to call ahead to check on wait times, as it can get quite busy during peak hours.

The hot pot here is exquisite, offering a wide variety of fantastic vegetarian options! There are several soup bases to choose from, many of which cater to vegetarians. The combo is a must-try! They also prepare a vegetarian platter for those interested. Don't miss out on the milk tea; it's a perfect companion to the combo! I definitely plan to visit again!

I had my first dining experience at this restaurant and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful in explaining how to order and navigate the menu. Unfortunately, the laksa I wanted to try was unavailable, so I opted for the Japanese sukiyaki base, which I was unfamiliar with. To my delight, it turned out to be quite delicious, and I really enjoyed it! The combo price is a great deal; however, the meat portion (4oz) might be a bit much for some to finish unless you have a big appetite. If the soup becomes too salty, you can request clear broth to balance it out. They also allow you to take home any leftovers if you'd like. Overall, it's a solid hot pot restaurant, but I do find it a bit on the pricey side.

Best personal hot pot place in Vancouver. The thing that sets those place apart from the others is the freshness of the ingredients. The seafood hadn't been frozen. The portions are also huge.

Price has been increased more than 30%, it's getting real expensive. Food still taste good and services are great, just won't be coming as often now. Edit: To add some examples to my review, I'm pretty sure most customers order combos. So a Rib eye 7oz combo that used to cost $15.95, is now $24. The Prime rib 7oz combo that used to cost $24.95, is now $33, not sure how that is 10 20% increase.
