We stopped in for a quick and light snack on our way home, but it turned out to be a mistake we won’t repeat. We spent $16 on two cups of wonton soup—not even bowls, just cups. We had intended to order more for lunch, but the atmosphere was dusty, outdated, and uninviting, so we decided to take the soup to go. Unfortunately, the taste and smell were quite off-putting. I understand restaurants are facing challenges and may need to cut costs, but they should at least strive to create a pleasant experience and take pride in the food they serve.
I went to this restaurant for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food. The crispy beef had an ideal combination of crunchiness and tenderness, with a delightful sweet and salty flavor. The stir-fried green beans were cooked to perfection—not overdone like at many other places—and the fried rice was also excellent. Don't let the simple decor fool you; the food is truly exceptional. I will definitely return when I'm in the area.
I have to agree with others who have mentioned the owner's attitude when answering the phone; she can be quite rude and her customer service is inconsistent. There have been times when she was helpful and friendly, but today was not one of those days. I called to clarify some conflicting information on their website regarding the minimum order for delivery. The website states a minimum order of $35 in the text, while the menu image shows $45, along with delivery fees of either $3 or $5. Initially, I was told that the text was outdated and that the $35 minimum was correct. Shortly after, however, I was informed that the menu had been updated in December, so the $45 minimum and the $5 fee were the correct figures. When I expressed my confusion, I was abruptly told that if I didn’t like it, I could just go somewhere else. I tried to explain that I was simply trying to understand the situation better, but it felt like I was being dismissed. This unfortunate interaction really left a bad impression on me. It’s disappointing because they are the only place that offers GLUTEN-FREE fried Chinese food, and their orange beef is outstanding! However, after this experience, I don’t feel comfortable placing an order.
We used to frequent this restaurant and were consistently happy with the food. The lunch specials usually featured generous portions and a good selection of dishes. However, we've recently noticed a considerable decline in quality. The special we were served included some stale white rice, a few pieces of steamed broccoli, and a very small amount of chicken. There were no noodles, no rangoons, and not even a fortune cookie. It was genuinely disappointing.
