It's a Canadian owned restaurant offering take-out and a small eat-in section with stools along the front window and wall. The lady who took our order was nice. She gave us the background of the restaurant and explained the menu. She also offered us a free sample of their all beef donair meat with a side of their signature sweet garlic sauce. :) We ordered for take-out. When we arrived home, we found the sauce had leaked out of the container and through the paper bag. :( We found this sweet garlic sauce was all over our Donair Fries Plate, the Poutine Donair Plate, and the Donair Meat Plate. Had the sauce been more savoury, the meal might have been decent. The sweet garlic sauce, however, was sugar sweet, like a bad dessert. We couldn't finish our meals.Recommendations: Please offer the sauce on the side for new customers and please, use plastic bags.
After reading some great review about the place, I was excited to try it out..First off, it's really a takeout... it has 5 bar stools for seating... very small dining area.I order the medium donair with cheese and a fries with gravy... Service was fast and friendly... and off I went back to the hotel. And that's where the goodness stop....The meat wasn't very good, but there was a lot of it... the pitas were store bought, not homemade... the fries were just freezer fries you'd buy at any supermarket...Me, and 2 other friends had orders.... and the consequences was. " We're never ordering that again! "Let's just say, we were paying the price that night, and the next morning
If it wasn't for the view out the window of Fairview St. in Burlington, I would think I was in Halifax having my donair (a Canadian east coast twist on the traditional doner kebab on a pita). So, just close your eyes and use your imagination. On second thought, don't close your eyes, because these are the real thing of beef, sweet sauce, onions and tomato, including being messy. I like adding hot sauce and maybe cheese to my donairs; there isn't much in the way of different toppings, just quantity. There are only about a half dozen tall stools at counters to eat at; don't expect to be able to sit down to eat. It looked to me that most of the business was take away. I can't say anything about the pizza, as I haven't tried it. You can get a decent pizza in a number of places, but a real Halifax/east coast style donair. This is the place for that.
Love their donair pizza which has their sweet sauce. Not your typical pizza and is quite heavy. Good for if you want something quick to eat but different from other fast food places.
I've had 1 or 2 donairs before thought they were pretty good so I was eager to try this place. I ordered the regular large donair with tomatoes & onions and side of Jr onion rings. Got the donair tightly wrapped in aluminum foil and when I opened it was a sloppy huge mound of meat. I could not bite into it because the amount of meat and the bread was soggy n mush from the sauce. The onions n tomatoes were in a pile off to the side in a clump. I ate the meat piece by piece and it was like eating thick straps of a leather belt. The sauce was sweet but watery. Had to throw out the bread onions and tomatoes at the end because it was too soggy n mush. If I was to try this place again I try getting the small donair and eat all the ingredients together nicely wrapped. The onion rings were the only good thing about this visit.
