Not chicken fried steak (which is dredged in milk and flour not breaded like this was) but country fried, which is fine. Glad I had cash since no credit cards.

Great food, great service. This is a small space, so be prepared to squish in, but it's well worth it!

Always enjoy The Mess w/ a side of pancakes, when I come here. Staff is friendly the food is good!

Cash only LOCAL breakfast spot. Burlington’s finest. A must stop if you’re in town. Service was a little slow on a busy Saturday, but that is to be expected. Skillets were great!

Cash Only!! Small, hard to see sign on the door when you walk in, and the larger sign is on the cash register. You only notice that one afteryou’ve ordered, eaten and are ready to pay.It’s at that time, they told us cash only and directed us to an ATM across the street (where you’ll pay fees).While I was gone getting cash, my colleague told the server that it would have been nice if we had been advised about “cash only” before ordering.When I returned with the money, wait staffcomplained to me about my rude colleague!UGH !!!! What an absurd experience.We won’t be going back.
