Hillside Family - Burkeville

I dropped by early one morning before leaving to pick up my load. The food was fantastic, even though the restaurant may have a quaint, old-fashioned charm. These types of places are often the best. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again whenever I can.

The restaurant offers excellent food and has a local atmosphere. The staff and owner are very friendly. There are approximately 10 parking spots available for tractor trailers. The ambiance is peaceful and pleasant.

Located right off of Highway 360, this restaurant opens early and despite some discrepancies in their Google hours, they provided a warm greeting upon arrival. Opting for takeout, I found their home fries to be made of shredded potatoes, although I personally would have preferred them with less butter. The grits were a bit dense and too salty for my taste, but the chicken wings were cooked perfectly and quite flavorful. I also tried some delicious pies, although they were slightly sweeter than I usually prefer. The staff engaged in friendly conversation as I left and I found the prices to be reasonable. The restaurant is now under new management and ownership, and this was my first visit but I am open to trying their lunch or dinner options in the future. There is ample parking available, and it appeared that some truckers frequent the establishment, as I noted several rigs parked nearby and a hotel next door.

The new ownership has really made some positive changes. Fair prices, good food, pleasant staff. Keep up the great work.
