St. Bess Jerk - Burbank

St. Bess Jerk is one of the Most Tasteful jerk chicken place since the pandemic. I found them next door to my Alteration/Cleaners. I use to see the people flocking in so I said let me give them a try. All man the food was so good andseason just right. The crew there make you feel welcome to come back to spend money with them again, Time after time. I evenask there names Lol... Thank you Ms. Sheena for your wonderful customer service skills... And the real cool very attentive guyEli Jamaican descendant. Who knows how to make that Authentic flavor come to life. From my personal experience I like them????

The food was disappointing, and I didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The gravy was watery, I asked for mac and cheese but received corn instead, and the meat was overcooked. Overall, it was a waste of money.

I've heard great things about this restaurant, so I decided to give it a try for dinner. I ordered the jerk wing dinner, and the six wings were generously sized and cooked to perfection. The cabbage and rice and beans were absolutely delicious. However, the mac and cheese was just okay. The evening staff was attentive and professional, which added to the overall experience.

On Friday, the 23rd, I ordered a half dark chicken served over rice and peas, accompanied by a side of plantains and a side of cabbage. Unfortunately, the staff mixed up my order. They attempted to correct it, but ultimately it didn’t meet my expectations. I reached out to the owner/manager, Ricky, on Saturday the 24th to share my experience. He graciously invited me back and made my order right, completely free of charge!

I gave this place 2 shots just to ensure it wasn't an off day on my 1st visit. Conclusion: No effort is put into the food. My 2 meals were microwaved and dried out. Rice and peas were undercooked, hard and super salty. Jerk sauce couldn't be use due to howsalty the rice and peas were. Plantains were good. The 2 young girls on the register each visit were super ghetto and stayed ontheir phone talking while taking my order. No cook in sight either time. Lots of ash over everything kept me spitting just asmuch as the undercooked rice and the dinner is the same size as a lunch from any other jerk spot. Sorry but if you don't care, Idon't care and will not be patronizing this business anymore.
