Where do I start? My mum and I have been visiting Chipperfield Garden Centre since I was tiny, but only recently have we discovered the Gardener's Retreat cafe. Oh. My. Goodness. The food is DIVINE and the staff are so so friendly and attentive. I'm an adult with autism and the staff remember me because I have a preference for plain chicken nuggets and chips. We are always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome and any fears of being judged just melt away in the calm, soothing atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond for their customers and no wonder many return to this wonderful establishment, whether it be for a scone and cup of tea, or a delicious filling lunch. Vegetarian options: There are many options for vegetarians and even vegetarian substitutes are offered for meat dishes! Dietary restrictions: The staff have been wonderful in accomodating my dietary preferences as an autistic person. They know who I am when they see my face and have wonderfully memorised my order and advised kitchen staff accordingly.
