However, I must admit that the Mac and cheese and collard greens were surprisingly delicious. The ribs failed to live up to expectations, but the standout sides offered some redemption. Overall, while Hattie Marie's left me questioning the enthusiasm, I would recommend giving their sides a try for a satisfying meal.
Just so you know, because I didn 't. This destination only takes cash payments. There is an ATM located in the rear of the restaurant, but of course there is an ATM processing fee. Now, back to the food. The food is delicious and just as smoke- flavored as you will smell when you leave the establishment. I have ordered the ribs and the fried catfish filet. On my first two visits, they offered lunch specials. Yeah, those don 't exist anymore. The ribs are tender and the sauce is on the side. I like the flavor and smoke in the meat. Was it the best BBQ in the world? No, but it is good. The catfish filet is perfectly battered, seasoned, and fried. Delicious! As far as sides, I have tried the mac and cheese, collards, cabbage, and the swirl cake. The mac and cheese and collards were my favorites. The mac and cheese either has smoked gouda or a smoked meat of some sort. Yum! The collards are not on the sweet side, instead they are tangy due to a vinegar base. The cabbage is a no for me. The swirl cake was tasty. It reminded me of a coffee cake. The customer service was Southern sweet . From the young gentlemen who took my order, to the young lady who tended to those dinning in, all were great!
Omg!! The food here was so AMAZING!!! I ordered the Dino Rib with fried Catfish and Mac Cheese and EVERYTHING was a winner!! The ribs were so tender they slid right off the bone. The fried catfish was served nice and hot. It melted right in my mouth. The Mac n cheese was so good and flavorful I ordered extra to go. Not only was the food amazing but the customer service was on point. True southern hospitality. I enjoyed it so much I took my kids back on Sunday for brunch since kids eat free and I wanted to try the fish and grits. Another slam dunk. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was remarkable here. I had a brisket sandwich and it knocked my socks off. Incredible bark, fender, juicy and bursting with flavor. Paired with a good dense bbq sauce it was a win. Onions could be improved on the sandwich but all in all very solid. I got the Mac and cheese as a side and boy did it hit. It seemed like the less common sides took a little longer to make but were much higher quality. Mac over fries. The service was decent, they forgot about one of my coworkers meals and she had to get it to go because we were on a time crunch. I also noticed they took an order for someone for an item that was 86'd Good environment, good food. Not the best I've had but a good lunch spot. Also there are a bunch of signs that it's cash only even though it looks like you can pay with card so I'm not sure.
Stopped by here for lunch. This was actually my second time here as it is a convenient stop next to the airport. My experience was okay but others who I came with didn't have the best time. First off, they only accept cash which is fine. I ordered a brisket plate with mac n cheese and baked beans. The brisket was good flavor wise but texture could've been better. Baked beans and mac n cheese were also good, but the mac was a bit soupy. My food came out after people behind me ordered but that may have had to do with my sides being prepared fresh. I spent $24 for the brisket plate, baked beans, mac n cheese, and a small drink. Additionally, one of the people I came with ordered but they forgot her food and was forced to box it since we had to head to the airport. Overall, solid food but pricey and the service average at best.
