Contribuiți la feedbackWe are spoiled. Above and beyond and even a little bit more than that. If you’ve perused our DMV food pages, you know we get around and make a healthy habit of indulging in the area’s food scene. One of the hardest parts of our transition north was saying goodbye to an excellence that we feel embodies DC food and drink. So when we decided where we would enjoy our first dinner date in WNY, it was with a great deal of energy and deliberation that we finally selected The Black Sheep in Buffalo.
A few months ago, I finally made it to The Black Sheep to try Chef Steven Gedra's excellent burger at the bar. The delicious burger served with some of the best fries in Buffalo were an accurate foreshadowing of our next meal which took place a few weeks ago. Our dinner was full of tirelessly sourced local ingredients and nose to tail cooking for which Steve has earned a dedicated following and a great reputation. Our meal was excellent from beginning to end. The food was executed expertly and was delicious, while the service was attentive, informative and friendly.
Went with 4 courses picked by the chef, 4 people in our party. 12 savory dishes and 4 sweet. The dishes were adventurous, and the server was very knowledgable about the dishes. I recommend this farm to table restaurant. The dishes were unorthodox, and showed the chef's range of creativity from a vegetable lasagna to pigs ears pate. The crispy toffee pudding was the best dessert.
This was easily the best experience ive ever had at a restaurant. The food was incredible, unique and worth the cost and then some. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was inviting and warm. I recommend it to anyone.
From the min we walked in we were treated so great. Did a 5 course chef tasting w/Wine pairings. The bar manager was so smart and told us so much great info on the wines we were drinking, this was the Best meal ive ever had out. It really made our anniversary special. The pork belly melted in your mouth, the homemade ricotta tart was amazing, the corn cake w miso butter was divine and the best part was the sticky toffee pudding! I licked the bowl! We will be back and we will 100% refer this place to everyone!
