We arrived in good air on December 30, so we didn't really plan properly the eve of new year, without realizing that many restaurants are closed and those that aren't booked in advance. That's how we ended up on the wood. really a pizzeria / glorified bakery, but its large size and cozy interior gave us hope. It was short-lived. They had a night menu. your choice of swarm (cold beef stuffed) and russa salad (paste salad with peas) or caprese salad. The crank and the russa salad were fine. the caprese salad was not: under mature tomatoes crowned by small mozzarella balls that had already passed their best moment. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he shrugged his shoulders when what he should have done was offer us an option, or replace the salad with fresh mozzarella. the main dishes were ravioles in tomato sauce or a steak. the ravioles were too cooked and drowned in sauce. the steak was meh: considering that Argentina is the land of the great steaks, quite disappointing. the dessert was vanilla ice cream or a cotta panna that had no flavor. We get a bottle of water and a glass of hot champagne, I think I'm more upset about the price for food quality: $75.00 per person. more than we pay for an incredible food in wood port, ($ 60 per person) which is, with a lot, a more classy place. Then the waiters demanded a tip. We were going to leave one of course, but they made sure. I only met that once in my many years of going out for dinner. I guess they need to stay with the pizza.
The staff is very polite, very helpful if the customer does not speak Spanish explaining the menu items, the bakery products are very fresh.
If you are looking for a good place to have quality food and a proper service after midnight until morning, go to the wood. from gourmet dishes to well-made pizzas, it has a fantastic menu that includes soft drinks and some alcoholic beverages, plus a friendly service. mortar to green, rabas to Provencal, pizza with panceta, etc. Very recommended!
If you go here, you have to eat the empanadas and order the pizza. the staff is kind, a little slow because it's full, but it's a good time to go. very informal and there are a couple of televisions if there is any sports event. add this to the list
