Chaps Real Pit Bbq - Buchanan Dam

This place just blew me out of the water!!! as 25 year bbq pit master this is Some of the best I think I've ever had as not of my own lol. Now I won't go anywhere else. just has a great vibe of that true Texas bbq shack feeling. love the outdoor seating. The copped sandwich was excellent most of all the Service was excellent. Great job

Don't waste your time or money . Stoped in for a quick lunch for the FIRST and LAST time ever. The lady at the window taking orders was pretty rude and discriminatory. (Maybe even racist) The brisket was good, but there's plenty of better places in Canyon Lake. Places where you won't get discriminated against. DONT BOTHER TO EAT HERE. Just go little further down the road to another place that is actually happy to have your business.

Declicious TEXAS real BBQ. Be sure and ask for sauce even though you pay extra for sauce. It's flavorful even without sauce.

In the late morning, we discovered our grill died. We needed four smoked chickens for a large gathering that night. Real Pit BBQ was able to fulfill our order with only a few hours notice and the chicken was moist and delicious! Thanks for helping us out with our family meal.

Don't get me wrong this place smells amazing! So I figured how could I go wrong. Of course smoked wood always smells good and shouldn't be the indicator that the food is good. That being said, I got a bbq plate. I ordered the chopped beef, pinto beans and Mac and cheese. The beans tasted like plastic, the mac and cheese were bloated noodles with some weird cheese sauce. Now the chopped beef was okay but it wouldn't make me want to stop to have it ever again. I took a few bites of everything and just couldn't continue so I threw the rest away. What a waste. And yes everyone who said the service was bad wasn't lying! I got yelled at for having my dog outside, which fine no problem my husband took our dog back to the car and waited with her while I got our food but I didn't need the evil eye the whole time while I ordered. That should have been my indicator to just leave. Lesson learned.
