The drinks were outstanding, and the overall ambience was completely enjoyable, and all in all a great evening ,I can't stress enough of the attention by the staff was so on point that they anticipated, your needs before you could even ask. I was very impressed! and my wife expressed to me that the food was definitely in the top three meals she's ever had in her life.
Le Bistrot never disappoints! We were a party of four with a reservation at 6pm which I recommend making a reservation. We were sat promptly. I had the Burrata and cucumber gazpacho for my appetizer, which was light, crisp, and refreshing. Two others in my group had the French onion soup, which was rich and pipping hot! And another at our table had the goat cheese salad. Three of us had the peppercorn steak for dinner, and each requested a pink center, aka medium. My steak was cooked perfectly, while the two others were medium rare to rare, which was disappointing. The peppercorn sauce that covered the steak was perfectly balanced, but you better like pepper. The other person in our party had the boeuf bourguignon; it was very rich in the best possible way. If you find yourself craving beef stew comfort food in Bucerias, this is the dish for you. And three of us had a scoop of caramel and chocolate ice cream for dessert, and the other person had the chocolate mousse. All of the desserts were perfectly sweet!
This fabulous authentic French restaurant in Bucerias is modern and intimate with that indescribable French flair. Run by a French couple, the husband is the chef and the wife takes care of the rest. This is what we had: For starters we shared the... French onion soup is just as we had it in France, scalding hot too! Fois gras comes with caramelized shallot and cranberry coulis and toast. I don't know if the duck is imported but again, authentic. For dinner: I had the cassoulet and it's so rich and full of protein I was only able to get through half of my dish. A duck thigh, a full pork sausage nicely pan fried first and several large pieces of ham. Served over top a bed of beans that has absorbed all the flavours. Very filling and just what I needed after a week of local Mexican meals. Hubby had the duo de poisson aux saveurs de Provence. It was light and fresh and just enough for dinner. Served on mashed potatoes and topped with an olive tapenade with sun dried tomatoes and capers. Poured over top with a fish emulsion. Cooked perfectly and served hot! It would have been nice if the owners stopped by our table to say hello like they do in smaller restaurants in France.
