I was with my mother-in-law, who can get cranky when she's hungry. To prevent any complaints, I brought her to this restaurant. The beers arrived quickly and my mother-in-law enjoyed the Flemish stew. However, the spoon provided was for right-handed individuals, which was a challenge for her as a lefty. When my fries arrived without sauce, they quickly brought some over when I mentioned it. The prices were reasonable and I didn't feel like I was overcharged, unlike some other restaurants near the Grand Place.
A truly delightful little restaurant just out of the centre of Bruges in a very picturesque square. I can highly recommend the traditional Flemish Stew for a winter warmer, certainly one of the best stews I have had in recent memory. We booked a table earlier in the day, not actually necessary even though it was a Friday night, however a real bonus as the proprietor reserved the table in the window. The homely atmosphere was quiet, but not awkwardly so. Not sure I can fault this restaurant anywhere, maybe the starters were a little limited for a non-fish-eater...
We had lunch here right after checking into our hotel. We both had the sole, which was very fresh. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended the local beer, which was outstanding. A nice way to be introduced to Bruges!
Super expensive for what you get and the service is horrible, don't ask for the steak is the most horrible steak that I ever had just the location is the only good thing that the restaurant have
While exploring the sights of Bruges, we stumbled upon this restaurant near Jan van Eyckplein. The mussel special with frites caught our eye, so we decided to go in on a chilly afternoon. The host/server welcomed us and we ordered the beer flight and the mussel special for my boyfriend, and french onion soup and hot chocolate for myself. The soup was delicious and hot, and the hot chocolate was heavenly. The beer flight was satisfactory too. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to see that the mussels did not have abductor muscles, indicating they may not be fresh and the shells might be reused. Despite this, the service was good and the restaurant was charming.
