A traditional pub. from the beaten away. we went the flow to find the clot after we recommended by friends how we have a dog. I'm so glad we did it. I love the fires and the personal. the barmaid was friendly and the manager (small man with bart) even brought our dog a bowl of water without asking. they are the small touches that make the difference. we ordered a few pieces for lunch and the menu is impressive. they also have a festive menu! and cracker lol. our lunch came fast and hot (especially as it is really cold outside). we cannot praise this place enough. recommend to everyone.
My son and I visited on Thursday night and there was a good choice of beer and eat. the personal was pleasant and accommodating. we wanted a precursor of only king prawns without skallops (what I am allergic) and that was not a problem. my main was chicken cake, which was a beautiful crisp breakfast baked and well dimensioned pieces huh. my son had a beef he enjoyed. this pub is a 2.5 miles drive along the channel from the yha lea valley.
I visited today with my best friend, my 4 years old and 1 year old and the beautiful waitress couldn't do enough for us. from us sitting on the stand table so my little boy could be comfortable to find us even a screwdriver for a new toy, my best friend had bought my young to his birthday, so that batteries (preventing any drinking) could be inserted. eating was great and not overpriced. they even gave us a free package of food to go after our walk along the river. we are coming back to the final.
We stopped here at the end of our walk along the Lea navigation. There is a good range of drinks, slightly limited on draught cider. Inside was well decorated and was very inviting. We sat out in the beer garden which was stunning with views out on to the river. The food other people were eating looked delicious!
