The Soul Spot - Brooklyn

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Soul Spot! The candied yams were incredible, the baked chicken was tender, and the mashed potatoes were possibly the best I've ever tasted! This cozy little restaurant serves delicious food. I highly recommend it!

As a first-time visitor, I found the food to be satisfactory, but the customer service was very poor. I was disappointed that I was not greeted by the staff when I entered the restaurant, despite there being two servers at the front. Even though it was a slow evening and I was the only customer, it took a long time for one of the servers to finally ask if I was ready to order. Additionally, I was surprised to be charged a 20 cent fee for a standard plastic bag, which was a first for me. Overall, the experience was not up to par and I would not recommend or return to this restaurant. I have received better food portions and friendlier service at other establishments. I suggest that you train your staff to at least greet customers, as this is the minimum expectation in the restaurant industry.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and the staff is welcoming. I personally prefer real shrimp over what they serve here, but the flavors are still good and they offer a diverse menu. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone in Downtown Brooklyn looking for a quick meal. Keep in mind that they may not always have all menu items available, like the stew chicken. Despite this, it's worth stopping by to try them out.

This restaurant is without a doubt one of the top soul food destinations in New York City. The food is delicious and incredibly satisfying.

The Soul Spot is truly a soulful spot. The curry chicken and black eyed peas were incredibly flavorful and juicy. The fried catfish was some of the best I've ever had. The baked macaroni and cheese was delicious as well, and I loved the half and half. This was my first visit to New York and I definitely want to come back and dine here again. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant, 10/10.
