Samui - Brooklyn

The restaurant is stunning with a stylish atmosphere. The owner was present and very welcoming, even going out of his way to open the front door for us and help us find our reservation. However, I would advise against going near closing time. We had a 9:45 reservation (the restaurant closes at 11) and it felt a bit dull. It wasn't as lively as we had hoped, and we were seated next to a noisy group of ladies who were laughing and talking loudly throughout our dinner. Our waitress disappeared for over 20 minutes, while the women next to us were getting multiple visits and even received complimentary shots, which we weren't offered. The food was fantastic, with generous portions and strong drinks. We may have just picked the wrong night at the wrong time. Since it's in our neighborhood, we are willing to give it another try!

I went to Samui during #EatThaiVisitThai Restaurant Week expecting to receive the special price advertised on OpenTable, but the restaurant did not honor it. After receiving conflicting information from 3 different waitstaff members, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager listened to my concerns about the long drive my group took to try their food, but when she spoke to the owner, he began to lie and backtrack on his statements. When I mentioned leaving a negative review, the owner accused us of trying to blackmail them for a discount. Shocked and disappointed, we decided to leave. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. Their business practices are horrendous.

The restaurant is beautiful and has a cool ambiente. the owner was actually on site and was very friendly and courteous, even opening the door for us and finding our reservation. but, I'll say it's probably not the best idea to close near. we had a 9:45 reservation (the restaurant closes around 11 and it seemed just dead. it wasn’t as “live” as I expected and we were caught beside a loud group of ladies who laughed and loudly talked about our dinner date. (there were other tables, but I guess because of the time, we sat right next to them our waitress disappeared over 20 minutes, while the women next to us were visited several times and received “free shots” while we did not offer anything. eating was amazing, portions were good, and the drinks were strong. I think we're in the wrong night, at the wrong time, when we see that it's in our neighborhood, we're ready to give him a second chance!

Very good food and service. I would avoid the special drinks as they were cuddly sweet.

Devastatingly disappointing. Reserved a table for our anniversary at 8:30pm on a Friday night. Arrived bang on time. Gruffly seated and then ignored by every server, employee, and I believe, even the owner. Of course I cannot confirm after 15 minutes of complete invisibility, we decided to depart and divert to a most enjoyable experience a short walk away at Gentleman Farmer.
