Was apprehensive to try this place as it replaced a neighborhood staple (Pok Pok), and I wanted to show loyalty. But Krok is worth the visit!!! Similar street food and more traditional less Americanized angle on Thai food, very similar fish sauce wings, but lots of different, more traditional dishes. Loved all the dishes we tried (see photos) we've ordered standard pad thai and pad see ew takeout from this place, which weren't as good as their homestyle dishes. Everything is super tasty some of the dishes were probably swimming too much in sauces, but delicious all the same. When they say spicy, they mean it their papaya salads will set your mouth on f i r e!
Most authentic family owned Thai restaurant in Brooklyn! They actually have Thai spicy levels per your request. I find that the dishes they do well here are their stir fry dishes larb salads Thai street style meat dishes to be paired with sticky rice. A must get app are their crispy and flavorful fish sauce wings!
Make sure to try the garlic wings - they are delicious. The pad see ewe is a perfect balance of salt and sweetness. The curry has just the right amount of heat and is really tasty. The sticky rice has a great texture and was cooked perfectly. Pair it all with a Thai iced tea to balance out the spiciness.
Was going to our usual spot but decided to give this place a try because it was close by. We ordered four dishes and was not impressed. Papaya salad was pretty good. Larb Moo was TOO slimy. The sliminess kind of threw me off. After two bites it was a no for me. Fish sauce wings were okay, it was a bit too sweet. Weeping tiger was a bit disappointing. It was over cooked and lacking flavor. All I tasted was black pepper. For this price, there are better places.
