Henry Street Ale House - Brooklyn

Your local sports bar where you can grab a good selection of beers. In an area that lacks bars with tvs, it's a good spot to watch whatever game you want. The staff is really friendly, the drinks get the job done, and plenty of tvs give you good viewing options. My primary knock is that the food is really hit or miss, with some dishes feel like they're out of the microwave (eg chicken tenders, calamari). I am leaving this review after just leaving on 10/1/22. I stopped by with my husband and sat at the bar. The bartender dropped two menus down, and whatever liquid was on the bar, made the menus stick. I guess cleaning off the bar wasn’t an option. I began to place my order and midway, while I was speaking he abruptly cut me off. I understand that what I wanted wasn’t available but the rudeness made me not want to order anything else. My husband began to ask about their draft beers, and he again cut him off abruptly while he was speaking. We immediately asked for our check, paid, and left without my husband even touching the beer. It’s a shame when you can’t visit your neighborhood bar.

This place is very New York! Great beers, great atmosphere, and awesome staff.

When we got there the outdoor tables near heaters were all full still so we sat a table on the sidewalk. The guy taking orders and serving (I assume he may actually be the owner) told us he would move us to a heater area when it became available. About 5-10 minutes later, he came back over and grabbed the drinks we already had to move us to the bar top that had a heater. Really courteous. He also takes COVID precautions seriously, my friend ran inside to use the rest room and he followed the protocol with taking temp and his information down. Really just a solid, pub style bar. Good tap list and bottle inventory. I appreciate the proper glassware. Menu is standard bar food but good quality (you could tell the food wasn’t just frozen and reheated) and great price (particularly for the area). The fried pickles and chicken fingers were good. He got my friend a side of blue cheese with no hesitation. Just a chill, no frills spot that I would definitely recommend. Looking forward to going here when it’s open indoors again, this could easily be your local watering hole if you lived or worked in the area.

While in Brooklyn I was riding around with my friend looking for parking to go to the park and ended up in front of this spot. We decided to get a drink while here and was served by Micho. He was a cool dude and was attentive. My friend ordered one of their beers and they had many to choose from and I ordered a pinot nior. My friend also had cheese fries. The pinot nior wasn't bad at all. My friend enjoyed the cheese fries and the beer. The bill was about $32. All in all we had a good experience.
