Anna’s Cafe - Brooklyn

The restaurant is a charming spot with incredibly friendly staff! I accidentally ordered the wrong sandwich since the dishes are not labeled as non-vegetarian/vegetarian/vegan. I didn't realize it had halloumi on it, but the waiter was very accommodating: he offered to replace the halloumi with tofu and they even made me a completely new sandwich with vegan bread. It was absolutely delicious! I recommend mentioning if you're vegan so they can assist you in finding suitable options on the menu. (In the photo, you can see what remains of my sandwich...)

It 's 2022 in Brooklyn so having plant milks doesn 't make it worth it anymore. They have vegan options that aren 't labeled and are serves with a side salad that isn 't vegan. When I asked they told me it was vegan, also that the mayo was vegan. After some digging, they told me the salad has honey but that some would still consider that vegan. That 's not your choice to make. Coffee and matcha is great. Too expensive but high quality. Don 't eat here.

I am a local resident and recently visited this restaurant for the first time. They offer a variety of non-dairy milk options such as soy, almond, hemp, coconut, and macadamia. The non-vegan menu items can create a slight odor in the restaurant, but that is the only downside. Their lattes are delicious, the cookies are yummy, and the staff is extremely friendly.

This cafe is a pleasant spot with delicious food. While I found the prices to be a bit high for the neighborhood, the portions were generous and the dishes were flavorful. Everyone in my group was satisfied with their orders. Despite the hectic atmosphere on a Saturday, our meals arrived promptly and we were able to find seating. It was a shame that so many customers were working on their laptops, taking up unnecessary space. Additionally, it would be helpful if the cafe clearly labeled their vegetarian and vegan options to avoid confusion. Though I was expecting a charming French cafe vibe, it was not quite what I had in mind. Overall, it's a suitable spot for a coffee or brunch outing.
