Bess's Cafe - Brookline

I have never been insulted by such poor and unfriendly service. From the owner (at that). I walked up to the counter to order and had some questions. Someone walked in behind me. The owner stopped talking to me and asked if they were there for takeout. They said yes. The owner served them first.When they were finished, somebody else had walked in and (knowing I still had questions) the owner asked if this new person knew what they wanted. They said yes, so the owner started to take their order.I objected and was thrown out of the restaurant by the owner for doing so. He said I was being aggressive.Obviously the owner of this establishment does not understand the etiquette of serving One customer at a time.Some customers need more help than others.I believe the owner should have continued to answer my questions until my order was complete.

The food here is great . Scallion pancake wraps with beef ,crispy chicken or shrimp are fantastic . Steamed buns , dumplings and noodle dishes too . Service is great . It's a small place , only a few tables , so takeout may be a good option . Definitely worth the trip . Parking: On street parking . I've never had a problem , but it is a little tight in the neighborhood .

The food here is SO GOOD. And it’s ready so fast. I can’t recommend the beef scallion pancake wrap enough. So delicious. And also very nice and wonderful owners.

The employees were rude as heck.. Gave us our fanta drinks (in a glass bottle with the hard opening top) without opening it first and after we had opened it they came up to us and asked if we opened it and they noticed that we already did, but with the grove that was already in the table and they give us attitude saying that we broke it when it was already broken, maybe you should have opened it before y 'all gave it to us... They also were being rude towards the end of our trip telling us goodbye see you later trying to essentially kick us out early and cut our eating dinner cut short because they were being petty towards us. Parking: Hard to find parking needs a parking lot

Super cute little gem with a limited but super delicious menu! Would highly recommend the dumplings in sichuan sauce and bao
