The Sleepless Monkey Cafe & Tea Room

I indulged in dessert and coffee and felt like I was in heavenly bliss! The staff was attentive and courteous. They also had interesting items like jewelry and art available for purchase. As I savored my coffee, I browsed through the beautiful pieces on display.

Visited with the family for a get together. Loved the atmosphere and the staff was really friendly. Food was really good and nicely presented. I'm also glad I found somewhere in Brockville that sells loose leaf tea.

I try to support new businesses in downtown Brockville and I have been to the Sleepless Monkey twice - both times were awful. The first time had coffee, tea and a cinnamon bun. The tea was weak and flavourless. The coffee was okay. The cinnamon bun was stale. The place was empty but the tables were dirty and sticky. The second time I went back 2 months later, still no drink menu - had nothing to offer but tea and coffee (no specialty coffee or hot chocolate). The service was awful, the attendant was on her cellphone the entire time speaking to her friend, again the place was empty but cups and plates with flies circulating the tables, I left. The only thing saving this place is they are open on Sunday and have a few tables outside.

1st time in during RibFest early Aug 2016, no cappuccino or latte avail. Coffee was good, but no sweetener available.2nd time in, month later during the BIG busker street day & sidewalk sale, coffee was poor (weak / no flavour) and sweetener STILL not avail, and, other clients couldn't use a debit card.Not impressed. They've been open now for 6 months as a boutique coffee shop, still can't take a DEBIT card, no sweetener, and poor quality coffee?Won't be back - sad - would much rather support a downtown shop like this than go to Tim's, but you have to earn the business, especially when you're charging higher prices.

This is a nice cafe with a limited menu of pastries, food and coffee.I did not see a cappuccino maker. The biggest draw back for me is that they had a limited of drinks.
