Stilts - Broadwater Australia

We saw this place a few months ago when doing a stroll along the beach path. Looked great from the outside. Food was incredibly bland to the point of tasteless. Given the price, a piece of sirloin on soggy parsnip wasn't really value for money. Unfortunately because you pay up front you really are caught out. If it has been a pay after situation, we simply wouldn't have paid for that dish. Reading an earlier review where it was referred to as Faulty Towers, I could actually relate to the point they were making. Lots of better options in town. We skipped dessert and went to Amelia Park for that and a better wine list. So much better in all aspects.

Expensive appalling. Fish chips came directly from the cheapest pre packaged freezer box to plate via deep fryer. Bland doughy. It was accompanied by. mushy peas a dessert spoon size of something vaguely green tasteless. Tartare sauce was squeezed from a bottom shelf supermarket purchase. We ordered two different duck dishes from the menu, but received two plates of the same gluey pasta with a reheated meat stew. Staff explained that the menu we ordered from was an old one the other duck dish was no longer available. We were not offered the option to look at the menu again. They threw in an extra glass of wine each for the misunderstanding from the cheapest pinot noir not the premium bottle we had already paid $68 for. We exited the venue feeling insulted hungry, having spent around $120/head leaving most of the truly sub standard food to be binned immediately. Avoid this awful place.
