Love that it’s also one of the few places that actually has free WiFi in the north riding area! <br/ <br/ Only issue that I had with it (which did bug me quite a bit) was the service. Staff just didn’t seem friendly at all. Not even an attempt at being friendly to be honest. This would be my only reason for not coming back.
AfricaBlack roast my favourite coffee beans. I am lucky enough to own an awesome De Longhi coffee machine that grinds beans nice and fresh for each cup and I like to start each day with a delicious cappuccino at home made from AfricaBlack's vintage coffee beans. <br/ <br/ I've been visiting AfricaBlack for years and I've never had a bad experience. Great coffee and service.
Saturday mornings are for delicious coffee, and that is what you can expect at AfricaBlack. <br/ <br/ My fiancé and I ordered the Farm Breakfast and Breakfast On-The-Go. Both were deliciously prepared.<br/ Unfortunately we were done with our drinks when the breakfast arrived, so the slow service did dampen the spirit. <br/ <br/ The decor is simple but lovely, and so appropriate for its name. Will definitely return.
Since being a long weekend of sorts, my friend and I decided to go out to breakfast on a Saturday morning close to home. <br/ <br/ Our original plan was to have it at Juno Co, but when we arrived there, promptly at 0800hrs, they were still setting up. When we enquired, turns out that they were closed prepping for a private function. So AfricaBlack is plan B.<br/ <br/ We were the first customers of the day and we selected a seat on the outside. We were promptly given the menu and I placed a double cappuccino while my friend had a fruit smoothie. My coffee arrived within minutes but my friend's smoothie took quite a while so, unfortunately. <br/ <br/ We perused the food menu, and it wasn't an extensive menu but nevertheless covered the bases for a coffee shop. I selected the freshly baked croissant with scrambled eggs and bacon. While my friend selected the avo and poached eggs on toast. Thankfully per the standard, doneness of the poached eggs were enquired by the friendly waitress. <br/ <br/ I must give top marks for the decor of the restaurant. With the quirky coffee cups mounted on one face brick wall does give it a certain charm. <br/ <br/ The food when arrived was delicious but nothing wow. Though the croissant was definitely freshly baked and tasted of full fat butter. <br/ <br/ A very pleasant coffee shop in an otherwise nondescript centre. Next stop would be the one next door, Joshua Tree!
Accidentally stumbled upon this little spot. Popped in for a cappuccino and a bite to eat. A pleasant experience and great coffee! Enjoyed the tomato, mozzarella and pesto croissant. The pastry was fresh and generously filled with a thick slices of cheese, fresh tomato, generously topped with pesto. Loved the quirky decor, festive without being kitch. Loved the wall with hanging coffee cups. Cute spot for a quick coffee and bite to eat!
