They said we had to stop to try their croissants and I 'm glad we did. This place is literally no frills, but the croissants SLAP. Le French Tart Deli is the definition of Don 't Jude a Book by it 's cover . You can smell the fresh paisteries from down the block and once you take that first bite you understand. Crispy, flaky exterior and warm buttery interior. You cannot make a more perfect croissant. I think France would be proud lolI wish we had more time and appetite to try more food from the menu but I guess that means we just need to come back.
Empty pastry, no filling (see photos). Was excited to try this based on their “best croissants” claim, but pretty let down. My apple pastry had no filling, was just a shell of a pastry. Took a couple attempts for them to get my order correct but I wouldn’t leave a bad review for that. The bad review is really for the empty disappointing pastry.
Saw the sign and came in to check out the #1 croissant . Well, I thought it meant number one best , but it turned out to be number one worst. Please look at the attached photos and decide if you would call that a croissant. : As for the taste, well, I only gave it one bite before I decided baking soda is not my thing, not in a croissant.Baguette: I knew it didn 't look right, but I wanted to give it a chance to prove itself (against a baguette I got from an Italian bakery cross the street on next block . But it simply failed.
They never judge me for my inability to pronounce saucisson ; Love this place! I'm convinced they have their best croissants on Fridays, but really, you can't go wrong any day!
Best croissants in Brooklyn (and we’ve tried a LOT)
