Empire Steak House West - Broad Channel

As my first dining experience in NYC, I can say they have left literally a sour taste in my mouth. I was a guest staying at the hotel next door and was referred to the restaurant by the front desk. The front desk said they had excellent food and would take good care of me. I was deceived. I ordered the “quick lunch” filet mignon which included broccoli and mashed potatoes. We have tried many steak houses in many cities but this would be our favourite. There are bigger names in NY City but this just hits the spot. Great atmosphere, great service but most of all the cuts are well chosen and really delicious. I would recommend the Empire steak for two…

THE BUZZ COMING DROM THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS JUST TERRIBLE. WE COULDN’T WAIT TO LEAVE.

We got the recommendation from the hotel concierge, he did not over sell. Went for a romantic dinner with my husband for our anniversary. As soon as we walked in the giant door, we were greeted by a lovely hostess, no attitude, no judgement, no one in our face asking how tall my husband is. He is over 7'1”, he is not often alloted that courtesy, that meant a lot to us, thank you for that. Seated at a table that accommodated his size and was still rather cozy.
